Did nothing for 30 days. But because you were there, everyone kept it together. Contribution: unquantifiable.
“We cannot do great things. We can only do small things with great love.” ── Mother Teresa
KQMN (Charity Box by the Register) types cannot be measured on a productivity metric. Because for 30 days, you did nothing. You built no barricade, ran no rationing, gave no speeches. And yet, on the 30-day survivors' survey, "the person you were most glad was here," you take first place. In the reason field, nearly everyone wrote the same thing: "They were just... there."
The essence of this type is that mere existence is a function. A charity box by the register makes no money. But a store with one in it looks like a slightly kinder store. You do that, as a human being.
Conflict doesn't break out around KQMN. Even on the night of the oden revolution, the rioters went a little quieter as they passed in front of you. No one can explain why. It isn't that you said anything. It's just that doing something violent in front of you felt "kind of wrong" — and that "kind of wrong" held the store's final line for 30 days. Security cost: zero. Effect: enormous.
Your contribution, meanwhile, refuses all quantification. Supplies carried: 0. Watches stood: 0. Rice balls shaped: 0. The person keeping the record of achievements (the manager) agonized over your row for three days and finally entered "emotional infrastructure." On day 30, the survivors introduced you to the rescue team as "this is our leader." For the first time in 30 days, you shook your head, clearly, from side to side.
Another argument brewing over a plastic bag. Clutch your 3 yen tight.
🍀 Lucky item: Plastic bag
The one who does nothing in particular, just sits there and laughs. And yet becomes everyone's emotional anchor — a god of fortune.
